October 11, 2020 - Chasing Diamonds - The Mini Series: Christmas

APN - Hot of the heels of wrapping up an exciting 5 part mini-series, The Switch, Chasing Diamonds creator, Dallas Walsh has announced that the next installment of the series will be at Christmas, with a three part mini-series with the same title.

"As soon as The Switch ended, I knew that there would be more story with the Rockwell's," Dallas smiles to the APN exclusively. "Lucinda's secret with Dane Ashby will have to be explored and with Nathan and Slate making an impact in Kelsey Lake, it made sense to have another mini-series soon."

The last two years, the Chasing Diamonds Christmas special was a one time episode, however this year, it will be a three part mini-series.

"To be honest, there was so much going on with all the characters that I didn't think one episode was enough," Dallas continues to explain. "I love Christmas and the holidays, so I thought a three part mini-series would be fun and festive for the holiday season."

Going back to the roots of the regular seasons, this mini-series will see all three episodes drop at once. "Everyone is so busy during the holiday season, I thought releasing all three episodes at once was the ideal. People can read as quickly or slowly as they want and each week, a new episode will be the feature episode," Dallas shares the details of the release.

Expect Chasing Diamonds - the Mini Series: Christmas to hit your screens on Monday December 7, 2020.

August 29, 2020 - Chasing Diamonds - The Mini Series: TheSwitch

APN - Creator of Chasing Diamonds Dallas Walsh has made an announcment: the fourth mini-series "The Switch" will be coming out sooner than you except. Watch for the 5 episode arch to debut on September 9, 2020.

"Diamonds has always had a release date of the number of month and day being the same; I finished writing episode 5 this week and thought I had a couple of weeks to wrap up all the editing and details to continue that trend," Dallas explains.

What can we expect in this installment of the series? "Drama!" Dallas says with a chuckle. "Things are never boring in Kelsey Lake. When Cabo Wabo ended, there were many balls in the air. Episode one, we've jumped a head about 10 months, so we will see what has happened in the mean time."

One of the main storylines will surround the wedding of Cole Rockwell and Madison Stewart, but will they say 'I do'? "You'll have to read to find out," Dallas replies. "And, look for a few new characters to be featured."

"November 11 the first episode will be released," Dallas said in a press statement. "There are three episodes, much like the first mini series earlier this year."

Of course, he is referring to the mini series "the gold diggers" that aired in February of this year. Unlike that series, however, these episodes will be released every two weeks.

"Three weeks comes and goes so quickly," Dallas said. "By waiting every two weeks to release the next episode, fans get to enjoy the Rockwell's a little bit longer."

So, what can fans expect in this min series? "Anything goes in Kelsey Lake, and it usually does."

February 07 - Chasing Diamonds - The Mini Series

APN - Creator of Chasing Diamonds, Dallas Walsh has officially announced that there is a mini-series event in the works for the popular webseries. The fifth, and final, season of Chasing Diamonds wrapped up last summer with a surprising 11th episode; the series followed that up with a Christmas special, so the up-coming mini-series shouldn't be seen as a surprise.

"I've been very vocal about the future of Chasing Diamonds and how there wouldn't be traditional seasons anymore but rather special events/episodes. It really started with the 11th episode at the end of season 5; that episode pushed forward the future of the series," Dallas Walsh explains.

"As soon as I was finished writing the Christmas special, I knew that there would be more drama from these characters, it was just a matter of how and when. I can officially say that I am working on the mini series. But no official dates have been released yet."

Are you excited for the mini series? What do you think will happen?

October 19th - Chasing Diamonds – The Christmas Special

APN – The fifth, and final, season of web-series, Chasing Diamonds, wrapped up earlier this summer with a surprise 11th episode. The series had initially released its normal 10 episode season, so the release of the surprise 11th episode had left fans wondering if the series was coming back full time, so soon after it was announced that the series was ending.

Shortly after, creator & writer Dallas Walsh teased that a Christmas special was in the works, claiming that these specials were "the future of the series", as he felt like writing two full time series (he also produces One Day at a Time) was too much to handle. Instead, One Day at a Time will continue on a weekly basis, and there would be Chasing Diamonds specials from time to time.

Now, an official release date for the Chasing Diamonds Christmas episode has been announced. On Monday, December 3, 2018, the episode can be viewed on the Chasing Diamonds website.

"I decided to release it in early December so fans can enjoy the entire month of Christmas with the special," Dallas told us exclusively. "The episode is longer than the previous episodes were because there's only one episode; it's not a season long event. But, I think it's just as dramatic as ever!"

Watch for the episode to be centered at Christmas time, hence the title, which will be a first of the series. Are you excited to see how the Rockwell's will spend Christmas? Chasing Diamonds: A Rockwell Christmas comes out December 1st, brought to you by Absolute Productions.

September 16, 2018

AP – Chasing Diamonds ended earlier this year when season five wrapped up. However, fans won't have to wait long for a special episode of the series to come to their screens.

Head writer & creator Dallas Walsh has tweeted out a series of suggestions that a Christmas special is on it's way for this year.

"Yes, it is true, there will be a Christmas episode," Dallas revealed to us. "When season five ended, I knew that I would have to take a step back from producing two series full time, but the set up of Diamonds is so great, that I knew I had to keep it going in some capacity."

What can we expect from the Christmas episode? "It is a longer episode because it's only one episode and there are plenty of fireworks," Dallas teases.

Expect the holiday special from Chasing Diamonds this December.

July 02, 2018

To celebrate the final season of Chasing Diamonds, creator, Dallas Walsh has put together his top 10 favorite moments of the series. 2 moments will be released weekly until the series finale is the featured weekly episode. What do you think of the favorite moments?

Lydia drugging Lex, her own son, so he would sign over his shares of Rockwell Mining is one of my all-time favorite moments. The series was still relatively new, but I think this moment showed just how far Lydia would actually go to get what she wants. Drugging her own son was a vial thing to do, but she did it anyways. Of course, she would end up getting hers in future episodes, but I enjoyed this twist.

I've already gone into great details about how the original Dynasty series was a huge inspiration for me writing Chasing Diamonds. However, one thing that I did think was missing largely from the first two seasons was a good old school cat fight. There had been many verbal wars on the series, but this fight between Lydia and Sabine got physical in the hospital. I don't write a lot of cat fights, only because it can be difficult to explain every detail, but I did love this scene and hope that it did justice to the readers!

The reason this gets on my top 10 list is because it was a pretty big moment for these two as a couple. They met in episode one and had a classic soapy encounter where they didn't exactly get off on the right track, but the attraction was there. They continued to have run-ins and the chemistry grew. Of course, this is a soap, so she was engaged to Cole's father, Mac. They realized this at the engagement party and vowed to stay away from one another. After Celeste married Mac, he went away for business leaving her alone with Cole. A rain storm hit and they had sex. It was a moment that had been coming since episode one and I don't think it let any C&C fans down. It is still up there as one of the moments that defined the first season and them as a couple.

This was probably the highlight of the entire last season for me; the reveal that Lex's lover, Toby, was actually a figment of his imagination because Odette & Tanner had been gaslighting him. I've already discussed how I struggled with a concept of season 5 as a whole, but once I came up with this idea, the rest of the season really fell into place. I love that Lex was so far gone that he was having sex with someone he created. It's just so twisted! I had just finished watching RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 3, which is why I cast MILK in the role; naturally a man in Lex's mind would have to be super hot. Easily one of my all time favorite moments of the series!

When I first thought about doing this countdown, I was going to have each of these moments as separate moments, but since they happened in the same episode, literally scenes apart of each other, I decided to group them together. Cole's fall of the wagon the first half of season 4 was so much fun to write because the Rockwell's pride themselves on being this classy, upstanding family (anything could be further from the truth) so to have one of them deep into drugs was great to explore. I wrote Cole, while stoned, as being super horny and wanting to have sex all the time. In the previous season, I had Brock introduced as a trainer helping Cole after he was shot by Odette Williams. Brock had made it clear that he thought Cole was hot, but soon started dating Lex, Cole's brother. After Dixie left Cole alone to get more drugs, Cole was horned up and saw Brock, who had been fighting with Lex. One thing lead to another and Brock gave Cole a blow job. I love how Cole, who identifies as a straight man, was more than willing to get off with another guy's mouth. It was bold, but it felt very true to the character in that state of mind.
Following that, Cole had to go to court to testify in the custody hearing of Ashlee, the child Vivian was passing off as Celeste and Marat's child. The reason I love this scene so much is because Cole was absolutely ruthless to Celeste, who so far in the series was the love of his life. Cole being the main reason that Celeste didn't "her" child back was such a delicious twist, it stands out to me as one of my favorite moments.

This was the first real surprise at the start of the second season. Season 1 had ended with Stacey & Houston being involved in a car accident; in the premiere of season 2, Houston was announced dead (he would later be alive), but this was a pretty jarring way to start the new season of the series. For most of the first season, Houston and Stacey's budding romance was being built as an epic love story, so it felt like it was cut short by his death. However, his "death" did a number of things: 1 - freed up Stacey to be with Marat, which created a triangle when Houston came back and 2 - introduced Vivian Blackmore, Houston's mother, to the series. Vivian has been such a fun part of the series and this was a great introduction to the character because it's not often we see her that vulnerable.

By now, you all know that Chasing Diamonds was inspired by the original Dynasty. In one of the episodes of Dynasty, a crazed Claudia appeared to have kidnapped a child (I think it was Sammy Jo and Stephen's baby). They cornered her on a rooftop building and Claudia dropped the child to the ground. At the time, I thought this was so shocking; Dynasty killed a baby by dropping it off the roof of a building! Of course, it turned out that "child" was actually just a doll and the child was safe. But this twist really stuck with me. So, when I was thinking about how to kill Jarek, I was inspired by this idea. So, Jarek falling from the balcony of the Rockwell Mansion came to my mind. The fight with Brock was pretty epic, of course, resulting in Jarek falling to his death. After everything he had done to Lex, this was a fitting ending for the character, even though I missed writing him in the last couple of seasons.

For the majority of season's 1 & 2, Lucinda was a woman of all talk. There were many scenes of Lucinda threatening Lydia if she "hurt her family one more time". In season three, she finally made good of her word. Lydia was going to Russia to close a deal with Yuri, and her plane crashed. This resulted in everyone believing she was dead. However, a few episodes later (3.05) it was revealed that she was alive and well - and Lucinda was holding her hostage in a cage in Lucinda's basement! Lucinda had faked Lydia's death to remove her from her family and was going to hold her there until Lydia died. While alone in the cage, Lydia moved a piece of furniture and another secret room was revealed; in the room Lydia screamed when she saw another face from the past … an alive Houston! The Houston reveal (episode 3.08) was likely to be more of a surprise for the readers only because Lydia was such a core character and asset to the series, but I love that Lucinda's plan allowed for both characters to be alive and well. The fallout from this created a lot of fun storylines as well.

Part of the reason I love this is because Odette was barely featured in the majority of season four as she was in jail for shooting Cole the season before. Of course, she was seen here and there and we had a scene where Mac learned that she was getting out of jail early. I had already planned this huge gala, which are so fun to write because parties are soapy and dramatic. At the same time, I had been re-watching Melrose Place and one of the most iconic MP moments was Kimberly blowing up the apartment complex; I thought this would be so cool to do with Odette, so I had her blow up the Rockwell Mansion. I ended the season with the bombs going off. Part of the difficulty in my planning of season five was that I didn't know how to deal with the aftermath ... writing the aftermath of a bomb is not easy! Still, the moment was so much fun and it shook up the entire cast, which is always a good thing!

The time has come to announce my all-time favorite moment from Chasing Diamonds. There have been so many moments on this series that I really did love. It's been such a journey writing this series, and it has challenged me in ways I never thought possible. But, when I was looking over the 5 seasons, the moment of Mac and Lex learning that Kent is Lex's biological father was the stand out moment for me. In some ways, I actually wish this secret had been kept longer, because it was so juicy, but season 2's pace was really gold in my mind. The fact that this secret came out in episode 5 (meaning there was still 5 episodes to go!) was pretty huge. It easily could have been the season finale, but it was fun watching the aftermath unfold in the same season. The storyline was just classic soap opera too. Two rivals; one woman; a torrid affair; a baby, who is now a grown man. Everything Lex was and believed in was because he was Mac's son. So to change that dynamic was fun. It packed a lot of drama in this episode, and the following episodes.

AP – Chasing Diamonds, the web series, will be making its comeback for its final season later this year. The series, currently on hiatus from its fourth season, which wrapped up in January, is expected to return in June.

Head writer and creator, Dallas Walsh said the following: "I'm excited to announce that the fifth, and final, season of Chasing Diamonds, will start on June 6, 2018. Every season has started on the same day as the number of the month, so this is a fitting final release day."

The final season of the series will follow the first four season's format. "10 episodes, as per usual," Dallas said. "And, like always, the first two episodes will be weekly released but the entire season will be released with episode 5.03 so readers can binge until the finale."

While writing the final season, there had been whispers of rumors that the series might continue on for a sixth season, but Dallas is setting the record straight. "No, there are no plans for another season," he said with a sly grin. "There is a surprise at the end of this season, but the surprise is not another season."

Chasing Diamonds will return June 06, 2018.
